Keyboard shortcuts

The keyboard shortcuts of GeotechOS Borehole Logging on Windows, macOS and in a web browser: commands, moving in the tables, editing and text tools.

On Windows and Linux, and in a web browser on them, use Ctrl. On a Mac, use ⌘ (Command) where this page shows Ctrl.

You can also see the shortcut of a command in its tooltip, and in Find (Ctrl+K).

Note: In a web browser, the browser can use some shortcuts first, for example Ctrl+P or Ctrl+N. Use the ribbon or Find for these commands.

Move in a table

Shortcut	What it does
Arrow keys	Move one cell. Hold `Shift` to select cells.
`Tab`, `Shift`+`Tab`	Move to the next or the previous cell.
`Enter`, `Shift`+`Enter`	Move down or up one row.
`Page Down`, `Page Up`	Move one page down or up.
`Home`, `End`	Move to the first or the last cell of the row.
`Ctrl`+`Home`, `Ctrl`+`End`	Move to the first or the last cell of the table.
`Ctrl`+`A`	Select all the cells.

Edit in a table

Shortcut	What it does
Type	Replace the value of the cell.
`F2`	Edit the value of the cell.
`F4` or `Alt`+`↓`	Open the list of the cell, for example the legends.
`Delete` or `Backspace`	Clear the selected cells.
`Esc`	Undo the changes to the row that you have not saved.
`Ctrl`+`C`	Copy the selected cells. Add `Shift` to copy the column names too.
`Ctrl`+`V`	Paste, for example rows from Excel.
`Ctrl`+`D`	Fill down: copy the top cell into the selected cells below it.
`Ctrl`+`Shift`+`U`	Change the selected text to upper case.
`Ctrl`+`+`	Insert a row below.
`Ctrl`+`-`	Delete the selected rows.
`Ctrl`+`Z`	Undo.
`Ctrl`+`Y` or `Ctrl`+`Shift`+`Z`	Redo.

Text tools

Shortcut	What it does
`F3`	Expand a text macro, for example a short code into a full phrase. Set the macros in Home › Text macros.
`F2`	In a field of the description builder, open its list of words.

Plans and sections

Shortcut	What it does
`Enter`	Finish a section line, an alignment, a polygon or a water line.
`Esc`	Clear the points that you measured on the site map.
`Delete`	Delete the selected polygon on a section.
`Ctrl`+`Z`, `Ctrl`+`Y`	Undo or redo on a section.
