Send samples to the laboratory

Send the samples of a hole to your laboratory from GeotechOS Borehole Logging. You select the tests for each sample. The laboratory receives the samples and does the tests. The approved results come back to the Samples table.

Before you start

• Your workspace must have a laboratory with tests turned on, and your account must be allowed to send samples. If not, ask your administrator.
• Your computer must be online.
• The hole and its samples must be on the server. Sync first.

Send the samples

1. Open the hole.
2. Click Hole › Send to lab.
3. Select the Laboratory and the Priority.
4. Optional: next to Results due, set the date. Type Your reference, for example the job number.
5. In the list at the left, tick the tests that you want. Type in Find a test to find a test. Each test becomes a column in the table at the right.
6. In the table, tick each sample against the tests that it needs.
7. Optional: type Instructions for the laboratory.
8. Click Send 4 samples, 6 tests. The button shows the number of samples and tests.

Note: A sample that shows Saved here but not yet on the server cannot go yet. Sync, then send it.

Get the results

The laboratory receives the samples, then authorises the request. When the laboratory approves a result, it shows in the Lab results column of the Samples table. The laboratory charts also use the approved results. See Plot SPT and laboratory charts.
